We have been investigating whether things are living or nonliving. We read the book Living Things by Patricia Armentrout and learned that living things are people, animals and plants. We also found out that living things have needs like air, food and water.
We went on a walk to find things that are living and nonliving. We practised justifying our thinking by using the word because.
“This is nonliving because it is not an animal or a plant or a person”
“This used to be living because it used to be a tree”
“Trees are living because they need water and air!”
We’ve also been writing facts using the information we are learning.
